A report of the Rimadesio showroom in Via Visconti di Modrone, discovering the 2016 novelties. A keep changing reality that, like every year during the Salone del Mobile, presents the result of a steady aesthetical and functional research. Concrete proposals, combining design and technical innovation, formal originality and attention to detail as result of this commitment. A presentation combined with the release of the "Stories and Matters" catalogue, which shares the design content and the stylistic and formal solutions, expression of a design in line with the needs of an advanced lifestyle.
A catalog to be read like a magazine, in which Rimadesio style is represented through a collection of contemporary interior images, where the modernity of design solutions meets sophisticated and evocative atmosphere.
The new finishes of the collection, with a chapter devoted to still-life, are the absolute protagonists, from glass to metals, from the stones to the woods.
Rimadesio achieves the 60th anniversary and chooses to celebrate with four 'unusual' meetings, which will take place in Milan showroom, by expressing the values that since 1956 qualify the company worldwide: creativity, innovation, respect for the environment, heritage and taste for challenges. The attitude for a coherent and conscious evolution, which has always characterized Rimadesio, is then resumed in the four events with four exceptional talents, able to interpret the uniqueness of the company's philosophy.
XXI Triennale Milano - 'Stanze. Altre filosofie dell’Abitare'
After twenty years since the last edition, the Milan Triennale hosts an exhibition dedicated to the interior architecture: 'Stanze. Altre filosofie dell’Abitare'. Edited by Beppe Finessi and organized by the Salone del Mobile.Milan, the event will be part of a wider program of events planned during the fair. Among the provided 11 rooms, Rimadesio will take part with Ursus, by Duilio Forte, an artwork connected to the poetry of the famous artist-architect based on the theme of 'domestic landscape', developed according to the principles of ArkiZoic manifest. A partnership between Rimadesio and Duilio Forte, with a common desire for tests and research in design and contemporary living.

The Rimadesio collection in evolution: from the new typological proposals to the sophisticated design of details, from the new metal, wood and glass finishes to the technological innovation of mechanisms and openings. Solutions designed in order to interpret the living space in a new way, to evoke atmospheres and suggest emotions.
Classic icons of both Italian and international design pay homage to the 1000th issue of the magazine Domus dressing up with Pantone colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. An exhibition realized in collaboration with Fabrica, which sees the windows of the flagship store United Colors of Benetton, in piazza Duomo, to frame the display. Rimadesio took part to the event with Sixty, the bookcase with subtle reference to the sixties, designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, presented in an exclusive Pantone Serenity color.
'Put your heart in what you are doing. Use the heuristic method. Give space to chance, error and unfinished': these are some of the key points of the ArchiZoic thought, as basic of the AtelierFORTE activity. Thus, following his principles, Duilio Forte is personally committed to the realization of 'Ursus', whose partner is Rimadesio, one of the 11setups, protagonists of the 'Stanze' event at the XXI Triennale di Milano. We find him working at site, busy assembling the impressive wooden structure, composing the mosaics, staring at the paintings, directing with visible enthusiasm the work of young employees of his Atelier. 'The work does not end in the project itself,' says the architect-artist, 'because the result depends mostly on its realization, as in a music opera.'

Among the novelties of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, the Self bold sideboard collection. An agreement has been defined between Rimadesio and Carl Hansen & Son by means of an exclusive distribution of selected products designed by the well-known Danish trademark, in all the Italian mono-brand showrooms. An exclusive partnership, which associates Rimadesio proposals to the nordic icon of modern design.
Already on the Spanish market for several years and with more and more growing results, Rimadesio is now opening a new monobrand store in Madrid, confirming a significant recognition of the design and style of the company.
The two floor exhibition space for a total area of 400 square meters, is overlooking the three sides of a prestigious building located in Calle de O'Donnell, in a commercial area for contemporary furniture. It shows a significant selection of the collection, including the latest novelties.
By the activation of the new photovoltaic system in May 2016, Rimadesio makes its own manufacturing capacity of solar energy more powerful, achieving a yearly production of 1,4 Kwh million, equal to the average consumption of 500 families. The Christmas evening at the flagship store in Milan dedicated to the discovery and tasting of new flavors. A sensory experience, accompanied by the preview presentation of two original volumes: 'Il Pan'ino Veggie' by Alessandro Frassica and 'Good Food' by Csaba dalla Zorza. Further to the tasting of the proposals personally submitted by the authors, the program also included a drink with the best champagne and panettone, the typical Christmas Italian dessert.

A new Rimadesio flagship showroom, in partnership with Bespoke, has opened in Manila, in the heart of Fort Bonifacio, the privileged area by the best international design brands. During its first anniversary, the magazine 'How to spend it' has organized a charity initiative, inviting some important Italian brands to interpret its cover in a creative way. Rimadesio participates with 'New Life', a handmade work created by Giuseppe Bavuso, who took inspiration from kintsugi, a Japanese technique providing for the restoration of broken objects, by combining together the pieces with a resin mixed with gold, silver or platinum.
The relevance of this technique, which over time has become a real 'Art', is really deep: according to the philosophy of kintsugi, the broken and then repaired object is actually a metaphor for life and the changes that are part of it.
After the show at Mudec in Milan, the works has been auctioned online. The proceeds from the auction has been donated to 'Save the Children' for the realization of an Italian project.
Rimadesio is more and more increasing its presence into the Far -East market: after the opening of the showroom in Hong Kong last autumn, the spaces in Shanghai and Singapore will be inaugurated in October. Rimadesio is among the brands of the made in Italy furniture signing the Mandarin Oriental in Milan, the first Italian hotel of the prestigious chain founded in Hong Kong in 1963. The studio Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel Interiors designed for each of the hotel suites, an original solution in glass, dividing the room from the wellness bathroom area. The partition is made by the Velaria sliding panels with mirror glass and anodized profile in a sample colour, which are alternated with fixed glass panels equipped with a liquid crystal technology. Through an electrical impulse, it makes the surface opaque, according to the requested need for privacy. A supply that confirms the technical versatility and reliability of Rimadesio.
'John Peter Sloan, the school' in the flagship store in Milan
The flagship store in Milan gave hospitality to the prestigious John Peter Sloan School for the lecture 'Ready to Build', organized in partnership with Rimadesio and Domus. The program was based on seven two-day intensive workshops, focused on issues of great importance for architects and designers. An advanced training course in managerial skills, in English, designed for professionals interested in better managing the working relationships with foreign countries and expand their business opportunities. Personal Design is the name of the projectdeveloped by ‘Paolo Frello & Partners’ for Allianz Bank. Each of the more than one hundred office units, spread out throughout Italy, are equipped with different furniture, customized according to the specific needs of each Group's Senior Banker. A unique project, following on one side the typical dynamics of an end customer, such as the analysis of the style and methods of work of the individual, and on the other side the size of the contract, related to improving the organization and management of the supply. Rimadesio is among the selected brands by Studio Paolo Frello, with different products involved: the Eileen and Self up sideboards, Zenit bookcases, Flat and Manta tables and Cover wardrobe system.

Sergio Scariolo presents the new 'Basketball Aurora Desio' team
The Rimadesio showroom in Milan hosted the official presentation of the 'Basketball Aurora Desio' team, who will play the next Italian 2015/2016 championship of Serie B. Many sport guests, from journalists to public people, among them Sergio Scariolo, current coach of the Spanish national team, who has won the European championship. The connection is due to the fact that the famous coach has started his career with Aurora Desio. An event that emphasizes the Rimadesio's interest in the sport as a key factor for growth and training for young people, being the main sponsor of the club.
The Barcelona showroom is renewed, aiming at displaying all the Rimadesio collection. The space of 300 square meters is developed in depth with double height ceilings and remarkable side columns, that divide the exhibition areas. The main area has two types of environment: a living area with Wind, Manta, Alambra and Abacus living, and a wardrobe area with Zenit, Abacus and Dolmen.
Recently opened, the exhibition space has an area of 140 square meters, and large windows on Wolfratshauser Strasse, an important street near the Munich Golf Club, one of the greenest districts of the city. The project of the Munich showroom, designed by Giacomo Fossati, offers a complete overview of the Rimadesio collection, where the swing doors and the sliding systems are perfectly integrated with new furniture complements. The architectural choices, the materials and the original layout of the products give to the space an image much closer to a contemporary domestic landscape.
From Sail the perfectly double-sided sliding doors, to the system of tables Long Island, to the freestanding Cover, the self-supporting evolution of the program Cover. Presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the 2015 Rimadesio news represent the values, that have always guided the choices behind the evolution of the collection. An original design process, inspired by the search for a balance between stylistic exploration and typological innovation, between expressive influence and technological quality.

The new Rimadesio showroom, based on the MG road, the well known design disctrict in New Delhi, is characterized by large windows on both the sides of the showroom which has a display of 600 square meters, including 200 entirely dedicated to Rimadesio. The collection is very well represented by a large display of sliding partitions and hinged doors, as well as several solutions for the night area. Desio was the place where took place the national finals of the championship Under 15 of men Basketball. The event, organized by Pallacanestro Aurora Desio under the sponsorship of the Federazione Italiana Pallacanestro and with the support of Rimadesio, involved the best sixteen teams of Italy.
The Rimadesio team, coached by Gabriele Ghirelli, after being one the magnificent four in the semifinals, surrendered to the new Italian champions Stella Azzurra Roma, who has beaten Benetton Treviso in the final match. At the third place Armani Junior Milano.
Pitti Immagine Uomo 88, the international reference for men's fashion and contemporary lifestyle, took place in Florence from 16th to 19th June, Rimadesio participated with the project and the preparation of the 'Arbiter Lounge, located in the exclusive Fortezza da Basso, on the first floor of the Lorenesi construction, which hosted two moments of great entertainment. The first one of cultural significance, dedicated to Dante Alighieri, on the occasion of his 750th anniversary; the second one, of playful, was a collaboration with Volvo for an experience of virtual reality related to the automotive world. To act as frame, the different proposals of furniture signed by Giuseppe Bavuso, including Manta table, the Eileen sideboard , the Flat table, the Wind bookcase and some pieces of the Sixty collection.
During the Piano City Milan event, the Rimadesio flagship store in Via Visconti di Modrone has hosted an original musical performance played at four hands on one design piano. Designed by architects Raffaella Mangiarotti and Matteo Bazzicalupo, founders of the study Deepdesign, the piano-dining table,with a simple and rigorous design, has been entirely made by Rimadesio. The Yamaha keyboards slide concealed under a large white glass top. Players of the concert event have been the the famous American jazz songs, reinterpreted by the musicians Marco Confalonieri and Yazan Greselin.

The Wind bookcase system was awarded the prize 'Red Dot Award 2015' in the category 'Living rooms and bedrooms'.
Established in 1955, Red Dot Award rewards international designers and companies, that express the best quality and innovation of the project. Wind, design Giuseppe Bavuso, made entirely of aluminum, is a modular system, combining aesthetic lightness and technology. The focus of the project is represented by the joint between extruded shelves and die-casting uprights, in central or terminal position, that with their exclusive design define the aesthetics of the system.

A special event, in collaboration with Elle Decor, was the free conversation between the director Livia Peraldo Matton and Benedetta Tagliabue, the international known Italian architect, protagonist of the special of the March issue of the magazine. Direct evidence of major projects, like the well known St. Catherine market of Barcelona and the Spanish Pavilion of Expo 2010 in Shanghai, as well as personal anecdotes related to her personal experience. The Rimadesio flagship store has hosted the event dedicated to the presentation of the book "Luigi Caccia Dominioni" for the series "Itineraries of Milan architecture". An initiative developed together with the Order and the Foundation of the Architects, planners, landscape architects and conservators of the province of Milan.
An evening animated by the presence of journalists and critics, who have illustrated the extraordinary work of the famous architect.
During the event the space has also hosted an exhibition of photographs, showing some of the main buildings that characterize the city of Milan.

Abitare magazine invites you to wonder about the communication mode of the project into a reality, that is currently experiencing a period of deep changes. Journalists from the magazine and the web, architects, designers and communication experts have held a debate about this theme in the Rimadesio flagship store in Milan. Moderator Silvia Botti, director of Abitare.
The new Rimadesio showroom in Via Nizza in Turin has been inauguarated, located a short walk distance from the historic center. The exhibition area, on two levels, shows the complete collection. The various proposals fit in harmony with the surrounding space and include essential volumes, clean lines and sophisticated and new finishes.
The Corinthias Arena, which is the new Sao Paulo’s stadium, designed by Anibal Coutinho, is place where 2014 Football World Cup in Brazil had its first match.
Rimadesio contributed to this project with a supply of Link+ doors for the Sky Boxes, the reserved lounges directly overlooking the football field.
This unique experience led Rimadesio to the production of more than 500 doors and lacquered glass panels customized in every detail, from the extruded structural electrified locks to the opening pulse. A remarkable achievement, which makes the Rimadesio aesthetics and technology the main protagonists of a worldwide event.
